A heartbroken woman has shared how her boyfriend dumped her after she shaved her head for a charity.

Taking to Reddit, the woman explained that her mom has been diagnosed with cancer and chemotherapy caused her to lose her hair.

To support her mother and other cancer patients, she shaved her hair and donated it to a cancer charity. But soon after that, her boyfriend said he ‘doesn’t like bald girls’ and dumped her because of her looks.

“I have always had extremely long hair. It reached the floor when it was down. It was thick and healthy and well cared for,” she wrote on Reddit.

“Recently, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and it’s been a horrible time for all of us.

“She recently started her chemo treatments and no one is sure what’ll happen, but we all hope she’ll be okay.”

Because of the treatments, her mother started losing her hair.

That’s when she decided to contact a charity and told them that she would like to donate her hair. When she asked if they could also make a wig for her mother, the charity agreed.

“Then I went back home and soon after my boyfriend came home, he was shocked to find that I was bald and thought when I was donating it I’d only cut off a little bit.

“I thought this was weird since I mentioned buzzing everything off since my mother was bald as well. He said he never thought I’d do it.”

But the next day, her boyfriend approached her and said “he couldn’t be with a bald girl.”

He then packed his bags and left.

“He broke up with me and left my apartment. Leaving me alone, hairless, and scared.”

Reddit users praised her for her selfless act and slammed her ex-boyfriend, with one person writing: “He’s a horrible person. Thank your lucky stars he left and you saw this before you two were married. I’m so sorry for your situation.”

Another said: “Wait until he learns that hair grows back, but good hearts are hard to find.”
