Prince Harry has claimed he was only created to serve as a spare in case his brother, Prince William, needed an organ or bone marrow transplant.
Amongst the many bold claims and allegations the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex has made in his memoir Spare, he also insisted he was “brought into the world in case something happened to Willy.”
Harry wrote his life was a “mission to offer a source of distraction and entertainment” while claiming he was there mainly in case his older brother would need “a spare part.”
He further insisted that the idea of him being nothing more than a spare was reinforced throughout his childhood whereas it was made “abundantly clear” that he was only there as a backup in case something happened to the future heir to the throne.
In his very controversial autobiography, Harry also recalled an anecdote he had heard when he was 20 years old.
This anecdote features the words that King Charles III allegedly said to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, sometime after Harry was born.
“Wonderful! You have already given me an heir and a spare; I have done my job,” the king is alleged to have said.
Among other fiery allegations in his book, Harry accused his brother of physically assaulting him and knocking him to the ground after the two princes met to discuss the pressure Harry and Meghan had been facing due to restless British media.
“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” Harry wrote as he admitted he accused William of “parroting the press narrative” when the prince called Meghan difficult.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Following the alleged brawl, Harry spoke to his therapist and didn’t tell his wife about the incident until she spotted bruises on his back.
