Lindsay Lohan is pregnant with her first child, the actress confirmed in a statement.

The 36-year-old Mean Girls star announced the big news on Tuesday as she revealed that she and her husband, Bader Shammas, are looking forward to the next chapter of their lives.

“We are very excited for our new family member to arrive and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives!” Lohan told DailyMail.com.

“We are beyond happy for this blessing in our lives and we cannot wait to become parents.”

The news comes just under a year after Lohan married her financier partner and branded herself the luckiest woman in the world.

“I am the luckiest woman in the world. Not because I need a man, but because he found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time,” she wrote last year as she shared a photo showing the couple head over heels in love with each other.

“I am stunned that this is my husband. My life and my everything. Every woman should feel like this everyday.”

The high-profile wedding came several months after Shammas and Lohan announced their engagement by calling each other their family and their future.

Later, Lohan also opened up about her plans for the wedding in an interview with Extra as she told host Rachel Lindsay that she’s “definitely” not going to be a bridezilla because she is “more low-key.”

“Even on my birthday I want to make sure everyone else is good and then I can be okay. So I’ll be more like that,” she said at the time.

“I’m looking at destinations. I’ve already started talking to a friend of mine about the dress. But I want to do things right and I want to pace everything. But it’s an exciting time. I’m very girly, so…”
