Life is not a bed of roses, it is a rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs, but all you gotta do is enjoy the ride.
There will be times when you get chances to make your dreams come true and there will be moments when you feel so heartbroken that you wish that a hole open up in the ground and swallow you up.
Getting humiliated in public while you are in your high school can be one of those moments. And no one else can better understand this feeling than Dakota Nelton, a high-school sophomore from Gray, Louisiana, who was rejected by her friend to not dance with him and later on was humiliated by his classmates.
Dakota was one of those poor fellows who was not popular at all in his class.
Most of his time in his school was spent with books or by getting bullied by others. He had never dated any girl before.
But when it was time for the homecoming dance, he decided to ask a girl he really liked but he wasn’t expecting that the situation could go that worse. He wrote the proposal on a hand-written display card and asked his friend.
Unfortunately, she said no but that’s not where it stopped.
Things kept moving to the south and someone recorded the whole incident and uploaded on Facebook that went viral. Now, Dakota’s rejection was on every second person’s phone and where ever he used to go, he was laughed at by others.
But one day when he arrived in his school, he was shocked to see that 13 girls were standing in front of him, asking him to dance by holding up a sign. Dakota, later on, realized that these girls also ended up watching his viral video and they decided to tell him how worthy he was.
It was one of the most memorable moments of his life. As he talked about while giving an interview to a local news channel, “I felt like one of the popular kids in school, which I’m really not.”
