According to the latest survey, an average user spends almost 2 hours a day on social media.
And more shockingly, this time spent is even higher in the cases of kids, compared to the adult ones.
To add salt to the injury, most of their time is spent watching cartoons, funny videos, and learning unproductive stuff. But there are still cases when kids learn something so useful with the help of social media that they end up saving the life of someone else.
Yes, at first that may not sound true, but this is the story of a 12-years old daughter, who saved her mother life by performing Heimlich Maneuver.
This is the story of Kathryn Daniel whose daughter loves using cell-phone so much that it had turned her a multi-tasker.
Kathryn told a local news channel, “She loves to ride her hoverboard while watching TV on her phone.
” She further added, “This habit really drives me up the wall. No matter what, my daughter is always alert, and thank goodness for that.”
But the mother didn’t know that one day, her daughter’s craze to watch Youtube could save her life. One day both mothers and daughters went to a fast food restaurant to grab a quick bite.
Kathryn ordered a steak sandwich and while she was eating it in a hurry, she choked. She told, “I hurriedly took my first bite and then could not breathe. I was petrified. I thought I’m going to die because everyone’s on their phones and aren’t seeing what’s happening.”
But luckily, her daughter was around who saw her mother choking and knew exactly what to do next.
The next moment, her daughter was performing Heimlich and she kept working and finally, the food popped out. According to Kathryn, her daughter learned it from watching the kids’ show “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.”
Daniel said, “One of her favorite episodes featured the Heimlich. Two other children, one from Texas and another from California, have credited the same episode with teaching them how to save their friends’ lives.”
Kathryn shared the whole incident on her Facebook and while thanking her daughter, she wrote, “I know I owe my life to my 12-year-old daughter. I’m so proud of her calm and poise during an overwhelming situation.”
