It was a cold and windy winter night in Greenville, South Carolina when Emerson and Maya were on Girl Scout duty selling cookies outside a store.
Even though people love eating Girl Scout cookies, most people would not buy $540 worth, but that is exactly what this Good Samaritan did.
The man didn’t buy the cookies because he loved them so much, however; he bought them to help the two Girl Scouts get out of the cold weather.
Maya and Emerson had been selling their boxed cookies outside of a store in Greenville, South Carolina when they were approached by a man. According to cookie manager Kayla Dillard, he approached the stand and bought seven boxes of cookies worth $40, and told them to keep the change.
The man then returned shortly after his first buy and said that he wanted to buy their entire stock of cookies so they could escape the cold winter night. In total, the man spent $540 on Girl Scout cookies.
Kayla Dillard posted a photo of the youngsters with the man to Facebook so she could praise him for his kindness.
Dillard said in the Facebook post that the man returned once again after he bought the first bunch of the cookies and said, “Pack up all of your cookies. I’m taking them all so y’all can get out of this cold.”
“What an amazing soul. It was about 34 degrees outside that night and we were there for about two hours already before he came,” Dillard said. “We all were shocked. The girls were very excited and thankful.”
Dillard said she does not know the good Samaritan. But his act of kindness surely earned him a place in the girls’ hearts for a long time.
