A mother has faced backlash after she revealed that she named her baby girl after a spice.
Brooke Scheurn and her husband have been inundated with negative comments about their daughter’s moniker after they named her Clove.
But in one of the mom’s videos on TikTok, she hit back at trolls who condemned her for naming her child after a spice commonly used in sauces and soups.
Sharing some photos, Brooke wrote: “Wow we can’t believe you named your baby after a spice… us not caring because she is the cutest baby ever.”
Her video has quicky gone viral, with many complimenting her daughter’s name.
“This is perfect – and why would people be bother by that. This is your daughter and you decided on her name,” one user commented.
“She is so beautiful and her name is absolutely beautiful as well!” another wrote.
“Me and my partner have picked the name Clove for our baby as she is our lucky rainbow,” a third said.
This comes after a man revealed that he accidentally named his nephew after a Pokemon while thinking of names starting with Z.
He took to Reddit and said: “I jokingly suggested, ‘Hey Zacian is a cool name. It means sword in Japanese.’ My mother and family loved it so it’s now official.
“My older sister and girlfriend are the only ones that know the truth, so now we are getting some Pokémon related gifts for the baby to reveal the truth and make it a funny joke.”
But a statement on NintendoLife reads: “Zacian does not mean sword in Japanese. Zacian is just Za + cyan, just as Zamazenta, its legendary companion, is Za + magenta.”
One person commented on the uncle’s post: “It’s not like the baby got the name Pikachu.”
Another wrote: “I was expecting Squirtle as the kid’s name.”
