Like all the other brides, Shannon looked forward to the wedding once she was engaged to Don Perez, the love of her life.
Shannon, who was always a bridesmaid, was finally going to be the bride. Finally, she was going to be a part of a new family with Don and his two sons, Tommy and Joey.
As they were getting ready for the big day, however, something terrible happened. Shannon’s dad was diagnosed with cancer, and he passed away shortly before the wedding.
However, Don thought of an amazing way to give Shannon a day that she will never forget.

As the video shows, Don and Shannon share their first dance as a newly married couple. Then, Don sits Shannon down, and surprises her by doing a choreographed dance with her new stepsons.
Just when Shannon and the others thought that the surprise was over, the real tearjerker came afterwards.
As the song changed to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” Don turns around and puts on a T-shirt. The message on the back of the T-shirt reads, “May I have this dance?“.
Then, Don turns around to face Shannon, and as soon as Shannon sees what’s on the T-shirt, she bursts into tears.

The picture of Shannon’s father.
By putting on a T-Shirt with her father’s picture on the front and asking her for a dance, Don gave Shannon the moment that she was waiting for her whole life: The Father-Daughter dance.
