Spiders are known to live on land and it can be quite baffling when someone discovers one bang in the middle of a sea!
Moreover, most of them are known to be pretty harmless creatures but they have an uncanny knack of showing up where we least expect them.
In the present case, such a scenario was recently witnessed in Croatia’s Adriatic coastline off the coast of Trogir. A tarantula was seen holding on to a buoy and a lady saw it firsthand and could not help sharing its picture with the rest of the world.
She took a snap of the same and even uploaded it on her Facebook page. There were comments as well on the same but some other facets are also quite interesting.
No one seems to be sure how it got there – The said tarantula was from the ‘Lycosa tarantula’ family that is also popularly referred to as the ‘wolf spider’.
Beach-goers of the area felt terrified upon its discovery at the place but the woman was brave enough to go near it and take a shot of the poor anthropoid.
However, no one seems to be sure how the spider ended up in the sea. Anyway, they are known to be timid creatures that hardly bite and usually retreat when challenged.
The comments were of various types – When the woman posted the photo on Facebook, there were a large number of comments on it.
Some users were curious to know how it ended up there while others were feeling terrified due to its presence. Some others felt that they can get a heart attack on seeing such a spider in water.
The poor creature got a lot of comments but most of them were hate pieces. It seems people do not like spiders as they are perceived to bite and inject venom which is hardly the case.
Although many spiders can bite, that is only their last resort of defense. Otherwise, these creatures usually shy away after seeing a larger animal near it. Maybe, there’s something to do with its looks too that makes it so much hated!
