Offensive and highly racist Tweets made by flag snubbing American Olympian Gwen Berry have resurfaced on the internet.
While the majority of the content uncovered is from the past which is about ten years ago, there is still some content present that reveals that the athlete was still representing the US during that time.
Most of the Tweets entailed comments that revolved around the Chinese and Mexican race, followed by plenty of shade being thrown at white people too.
The reason why this is all so shocking for viewers is related to the fact that the famous hammer thrower turned her back on the country’s national anthem and flag because she felt it was ‘offensive’ to the Black community.
But now, the joke may be upon Gwen Berry herself for using the international podium as a great platform for Olympic trials.
Till today, all of the posts are still visible on the athlete’s account with some being more jaw-dropping than others.
For instance, some jokes were aimed at rape while others entailed ‘stomping’ upon a child.
In addition, it was not uncommon to find the word ‘retarded’ as widely being used across the board.Right after the star hammer thrower turned her back on the anthem, she opted to hold him a black-toned t-shirt which had the words ‘Activist Athlete’ printed across the front, while draping it over her head too. And that was a loud and clear message that she intended to send out to the world.
In addition, Gwen Berry opted to appear on live television, explaining how she never hated the country nor its people.
However, she called the country’s anthem offensive for her ‘Black’ community and hence simply couldn’t stand there.
In the same way, conflicting statements were also made by Berry where she claims she had been ‘tricked’ into being there at that particular moment.
