Exploring unknown places is both exciting and a little scary because you never know what’s going to happen next.
Leslie David, known as the “Tourist,” is famous for doing exactly this – Exploring.
Usually, she looks around for deserted places, takes photos, and posts them on Instagram.
And because each of these images exhibits a unique combination of nostalgia and eccentricity, people are fascinated by her photos.
Recently, Leslie decided to make a trip to one particular house that she had been curious about for a while.
At that time, she had no idea that this trip would change her life.
With the driveway growing in and the roof caving in, the house appeared to be empty.
However, when she went into the living room, Leslie almost screamed.

A man was standing right in front of her.
After realizing that this man actually was living in the house, Leslie immediately apologized for barging in. Fortunately, Lawrence, the owner of the house, was very understanding. He even let her take a picture of him.
Then, they sat down together and started talking. Because Leslie wanted to hear more about Lawrence’s life stories, this trip ended up lasting for more than three hours.
When she got back, Leslie posted about her new friend on Instagram, which went viral.
“This is Lawrence. He lives in a house I had believed to be abandoned. He has a hard time getting around, so he spends most of his time in there. Alone.
He is missing his right eye and has cataracts infecting the left. Even after noticing a stranger essentially helping themselves to his life, he was nothing but sweet and kind to me. He was even nice enough to let me take his picture which I will always treasure. He is a beautiful soul and I plan on visiting him a lot.

I’m posting this picture in hopes that it will inspire at least one person to reach out to someone they may have lost contact with or perhaps just forgot about.
These old souls are still full of life and I feel blessed to have met this one.”
After their first shocking encounter, Leslie kept showing up to Lawrence’s house to keep him company.
She even got help from a “very generous company and a few awesome boys big hearts and strong lower backs” to fix Lawrence’s house.
Unfortunately, because of his deteriorating health conditions, Lawrence eventually had to move to a retirement home. But, Leslie was right by his side for every step of the process.
She still frequently visits her friend, thereby maintaining their strong friendship.
I can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if Leslie hadn’t gone exploring.
It’s almost as if these two were meant to meet each other!
