Netflix has just released a new action thriller, named Extraction, and from the response it has got on social media, it looks like the movie is worth watching.

The story of Extraction is centered upon a mercenary, Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), who has set out on a mission to bring back the kidnapped son of an imprisoned crime lord.

The movie is made by the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony and Joe Russo. The screenplay was written by Joe Russo and both of them co-produced the movie.

Other notable names on the team include David Harbour from Stranger Things.

It is still too early to judge the overall level of success the movie is going to achieve but so far, the response from the viewers has been a good one.

However, the reviews from the critics have not been totally positive and only the people who are diehard action fans have actually loved the movie.

A Gamespot review is a very good reflection of what critics think of the movie. It says: “With its comfortable formula and lavish action sequences, Extraction is another high-profile but ultimately average Netflix movie, notable more for the big-name stars than its overall quality (see also the recent 6 Underground and Spencer Confidential).

“But with zero competition in theaters from better movies, it should satisfy those looking for glossy thrills.”

At the start of 2020, LADbible reached out to Bobby Holland Hanton, Hemsworth’s stunt double. As you can expect, Bobby’s job primarily consists of getting hit by cars and being thrown from buildings.

He has got quite some serious over the time of his career as a stunt man.

He had surgery for repairing herniated discs in his back and before that, he tore his groin muscles off his bones while shooting for Thor: Ragnarok.

Bobby told LADbible: “If he [Hemsworth] gets injured, the whole show goes down, so I’ve got to be very cautious and have a relationship with the stunt coordinator and the secondary director and say ’that’s not really a Chris thing’.

“I can be replaced but Chris can’t, that’s the difference.

“The nature of what we do is dangerous, but what we try to do is eliminate as much danger as we can with time and rehearsals. Sometimes you’ve got to take away the mats and take a hard hit.

“It’s just part and parcel of what we do and we know those risks.”
