Scrubs And Cougar Town Star Sam Lloyd Died At The Age Of 56


Cougar Town and Scrubs star Sam Lloyd died from lung cancer complications at the age of 56 according to his family.

Mr. Lloyd’s passing was confirmed by his family who revealed that the star, who was best known for his appearance in American comedy-drama Scrubs and sitcom Cougar Town, died at his home “peacefully” on April 30, 2020.

Opening up about her husband’s tragic death was Vanessa Lloyd who, in a statement, expressed:

“Sam passed away peacefully at 10:30 on April 30, 2020, as a result of complications from lung cancer. Our family is devastated. It doesn’t feel real. It never will. It just feels like he will walk through the door.”

Besides his appearance in Cougar Town and Scrubs, the Hollywood actor took on other prominent roles in hits like Modern Family, Desperate Housewives, and Shameless.

“The overwhelming outpouring of love and sharing your stories about working with or knowing Sam keeps his memory alive and our hearts strong,” Vanessa’s statement went on.

“Sam loved his work. I want to continue his legacy, and hope to share some of the beautiful songs he was working on for his musical and our son, Weston.”

According to the reports, the 56-year-old actor was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor back in 2019. Eventually, cancer had spread to Lloyd’s lungs and spine before claiming the actor’s life in April 2020.

Following the star’s tragic death, fellow entertainment industry workers and fans paid a tribute to Lloyd on social media.

“Thinking a lot about Sam Lloyd today. (Ted). Truly such a kind, sweet guy. He will be missed by so many,” Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Zach Braff, who also played in Scrubs, dubbed Lloyd “one of the funniest actors” as he took to Twitter to write:
