American actress and former model Kelly Preston died at the age of 57 following a long battle with her disease.
Preston, the wife of actor, singer, and dancer John Travolta, kicked off her acting career in 1985 when she appeared in Mischief.
In the following years, the actress appeared in a number of films including SpaceCamp, Twins, For Love of the Game, and Gotti.
The 57-year-old died on July 12 following her 2-year fight with breast cancer which she kept private according to PEOPLE.
Confirming the celebrity’s death was also Preston’s husband, John Travolta, who married the Jerry Maguire actress back in 1991.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” the 66-year-old Pulp Fiction star expressed in his Instagram post.
“… I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.”
Preston is survived by her husband and their two children, 20-year-old Ella and 9-year-old Benjamin. In 2009, the couple lost their 16-year-old son Jett following a seizure.
