Actress and writer Mary Pat Gleason died from cancer on June 2, 2020, at the age of 70.
According to Variety, the representatives of the ‘A Cinderella Story’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ actress confirmed that the 70-year-old “was a fighter to the end.”
Throughout her decades-long career, the actress and writer has become well known for her contribution to film industry successes such as Basic Instinct (1992), The Crucible (1996), Bruce Almighty (2003), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018), and more.
The popular actress also appeared in numerous TV shows including ‘Full House,’ ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ ‘Friends,’ ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘General Hospital,’ ‘Chuck,’ ‘Hawaii Five-0,’ ‘Desperate Housewives,’ and many more.
Gleason landed her first major role as Jane Hogan in the TV show Guiding Light for which she was later also awarded a Daytime Emmy for her contributions as a member of the series’ writing team.
Throughout the years, the actress appeared in, or otherwise contributed to, dozens of renowned films and TV shows such as Will & Grace.
Before her death, Gleason has racked up 174 credits to her name according to her IMDb page. May she rest in peace.
