Adele gave a hint to release a new album in September, five years after she released 25.
The 31-year-old singer performed at her best friend’s wedding over the weekend and said to “expect my album in September” in Instagram videos of the same night.
She released her last album in 2015, it featured singles like “Hello” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” The album got Adele five Grammys in 2017, including album of the year.
In her acceptance speech of that award, Adele gave a shoutout to her fellow nominee, Beyoncé. “My artist of my life is Beyoncé, and this album to me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental,” Adele said with teary eyes from the stage.
Adele recently stunned her fans when she made an appearance at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 2020 Oscars after party, wearing a sparkly leopard print dress that showed off her excellent figure.
Her former personal trainer, Camila Goodis, told Lorraine Kelly how the star reduced her calorie intake and did daily workouts.
“She’s working out but I think 90 per cent of it is diet,” said Camila.
“It’s a good diet to shed the weight. The first week is intense, green juices and only 1,000 calories. She doesn’t look too thin – she looks amazing.”
On working with the star, she added: “When she came for a workout I didn’t know it was her and when she left, I thought: ‘Oh it looks a little bit like Adele. She looks amazing – she’s changed her lifestyle and diet.”
The singer told a fan while she was vacationing in Anguilla with Harry Styles and James Corden that she has lost 100 lbs. A source told PEOPLE that Adele is following a strict diet and fitness routine.
“It’s easy to just focus on her physical transformation, but this is really about something bigger,” an insider said. “She got to the point where she didn’t feel great. She knew she had to change something because she wants to be the healthiest mom possible.”
“Her whole focus during the weight loss journey has really how been all about how she can be healthier and how can she treat her body better,” the insider said. “It was never about losing weight. Her weight loss happened because she has cut down drinking and is eating more real food. But she now loves her physical transformation too. She is more confident, dresses differently and she just seems happier overall.”
