Having a family is an obvious thing for typical children but for the children in foster care system, they are not guaranteed to have a family.
There are some fortunate kids who are adopted to loving families but foster children dream to be adopted every day.
Haven Dockins was one of those kids.

She has been in foster care for 10 years. A 16-year-old girl is used to be in family court. She has spent her childhood at family court with child protective services, attorneys, and all different foster parents.
Nothing special has happened to her in family court so she didn’t think much of it when her foster parents said she and foster siblings were taking a day off from school and go to family court.
Then, it was a special day.
Haven didn’t want a lot for Christmas. There was just one thing she wanted: her foster parents to adopt her.
She didn’t know anything about the day before she stood in front of the judge who declared that the paperwork was done for her adoption.

It was an ultimate surprise for Haven. She was finally adopted. At 16 years old, she finally has a family.
Judge Rod Paasch said, “Haven, you’re here smiling so I guess you’re happy with this?” Haven merrily replied yes.
She said, “This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had in my whole life. I love them so much; they mean so much to me. I am so happy right now.”
Haven will be spending rest of her life with her family: two loving parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
She was one of the happiest people on the day.
