An adoptive mother of a five-year-old boy has urged not to release her son’s abusive parents.

Tony Hudgell was abused by his own parents, 24-year-old Jody Simpson, and 47-year-old Tony Smith, when he was a baby.

Tony was left with multiple organ failure, numerous fractures, and sepsis when he was just 41 days old.

The doctors thought he wouldn’t survive.

The little boy fought for his life for six weeks before the doctors had to amputate both of Tony’s legs from below the knee.

His parents, Jody Simpson and Tony Smith were jailed for ten years.

Later, Paula Hudgell and her husband Mark adopted Tony who is now a 5-year-old.

Recently, when Paula heard the government is planning to release some of the prisoners from prisons in England and Wales amid coronavirus outbreak, she was left worried.

Paula has urged the prison officials not to release the evil parents of Tony early who abused him so badly that his legs were amputated.

She said Simpson and Smith are only halfway through their sentences and she hopes the prison officials would only release prisoners who are serving a few weeks or a few months.

Paula said: “I would be really concerned if those two were released because they would only have served a quarter of a sentence and that would be horrendous.”

Tony has lifelong injuries and Paula wants his evil parents to complete their jail term.

She said: “You want the worst criminals locked behind bars and people who hurt children are the lowest of the low because they are the most vulnerable in society.”

Paula said the evil parents of Tony are supposed to be getting released in two years and she is afraid they can do anything after serving their jail term.

She said: “This is why we want to bring in a child cruelty register. He could go on to live with another family or she could have more children. To me, that’s really scary.”

Describing Tony, Paula said he is a bright and strong-willed boy and they are proud of him.

Tony now uses prosthetics and Paula hopes he will soon be able to play frame football that he loves.
