Flamingos cannot live in dry. They need water around to live in a place.

This is why when the dam dried up, thousands of flamingoes flew away saving their life but they were unable to take their chicks along.

As a result, about 2,000 chicks were left on their destiny by their parents.

Some of the rescue workers found out about them and they were all rescued.

They were to be shifted to a bird rehabilitation center but due to the drought and being without any care by their parents for a few days, several chicks were already too week and dehydrated.

They were rescued but they died in the journey.

At the rehabilitation center although they do not have a perfect life they should have had. But they all are being taken care of perfectly, the one thing they need the most at this point in time.

Each day after they have eaten their morning meal, the caretaker forces them to go out in the sun and near the pool where they play around all day before they are all set to have their mid-day meal.

To watch them go out each day, several people come as this is a show of a lifetime. The chicks are all too young as off now but once they are ready, they will all be left back in the wild to live a natural life.
