A 56-year-old age-defying grandfather is often mistaken for a man in his 30s due to his youthful looks.
As UK-based Andy Wilkinson revealed, people often believe he’s decades younger than he looks due to his youthful face and carved muscles.
According to the dad-of-three and grandad-of-seven, his young looks can be attributed not only to genetics but also to his healthy lifestyle.
As the 56-year-old personal trainer claimed, cutting back on carbs and exercising at least three times per week helps him stay in good shape.
“If I’m on holiday with my six-pack out, I get approached by ladies in their thirties and I’ve been mistaken for my daughter’s partner rather than her father on occasion, which is embarrassing,” Mr. Wilkinson admitted.
“My friends also think it’s hilarious when we go out to shock people with the fact that I’m a grandfather of seven.”
While the man revealed he was always doing his best to look good, he insisted he became more obsessed with what he ate after reaching his 30s.
“I realized there was no need to have protein shakes, bars or supplements to get that beach body look. It was about eating healthy foods, portion control and cutting down on carbs as you age,” he added.
“The older you get, you don’t need as much carbs or food as you think you need. Now I’ll stick to a few tablespoons of rice and half a sweet potato as my carbohydrate and I focus on eating less carbs at night.
“I also drink plenty of water too – you can put all the creams in the world on your face but water is what matters most when it comes to good skin.”
As Andy explained, managing stress, avoiding alcohol, and getting enough rest are also important factors when it comes to ‘defying’ age.
