Kay Ivy, Alabama Gov.
has signed a new law which states that some sex offenders will be chemically castrated before the parole.
The bill which is signed will start becoming effecting later this year, and there are different measures which will apply to specific crimes which involve children younger than 13 years.
Chemical castration is when an injection filled with medicine blocks the testosterone production in the body.
The injection will be given to specific sex offenders before they will get paroled from the prison. The judge will take the decision of stopping the medicine after a point of time.
There are many questions raised by the legal groups about the use of forced medication. It is a significant step taken by the Gov. to stop any more crimes to happen after the parole of these sex offenders.
The injection to the offenders will be given just before they will be granted parole from the prison, and the medication will keep going until and unless the judge decides to stop it.
The offenders will be given a health checkup to keep a check on their health after the medication, but it will keep going until the judge gives the order to stop it.
