Two albino sisters who were born in different decades are in high demand as models in Kazakhstan where people can’t get enough of their unique looks.
While Kamila Kalaganova is just two years old, her sister Asel is 14 years old. Since the albino sisters look very different from their 8-year-old brother, the kids have previously questioned who their birth father was.
“People are surprised that we are albino. Many people do not know what albinos are,” Asel admitted.
As the girls’ 38-year-old mother Aiman Sarkitova revealed, doctors have initially caused a scandal by falsely claiming that Asel had a Russian father after the girl was born different.
At the age of 10, Asel has begun her modeling career whereas interest in her as a model spiked after the birth of her sister, Kamila, who is also an albino.
“When I gave birth to my eldest, genetics were not so developed with us. It is developing only now. The doctors were shocked, and thought that she was Russian,” Aiman added.
“Then I started reading about this matter, I have learned that my children are albinos. At the very beginning everyone was shocked, surprised. I did not know what to do myself, how to live.”
As the mum added, she now knows that her ancestors were albino even though the entire family was unaware of that fact before.
“Albinos do not differ much from other children, only their hair, eyelashes, eyes, and skin color. At first it was difficult, of course, the children stared at her. Now she feels good, we do not limit her to anything,” Aiman continued.
The girls now feel great in their own bodies and are in high demand as models. However, they are not free of daily challenges.
“If I go outside in the afternoon, then I definitely apply sunscreen, put on clothes to protect my skin, headgear or use an umbrella. In the evening, when there is almost no sun, it’s much easier for me,” Asel added.
As for the girls’ 8-year-old brother, he couldn’t be any prouder of his sisters after he figured out just how unique they are.
“He is dark-skinned, a real Kazakh. Until the younger one was born, he did not ask any questions. But when Kamila was born, he began to say: ‘Mum, why are they like that? Why am I not like them, not like my sisters?’” Aiman explained.
“He realizes that people are looking at the girls, and even begins to boast, proudly telling people about his unique sisters.”
