Alec Baldwin’s daughter Ireland has slammed Candace Owens after the conservative commentator called her dad’s accidental shooting poetic justice.
Following the tragic on-set shooting during which the 63-year-old Hollywood actor accidentally shot and killed photography director Halyna Hutchins, Owens took the tragedy as an opportunity to take a jab at Baldwin and call the incident “poetic justice” in a bitter reference to the actor’s opposition to gun rights and the NRA.
Following the 32-year-old Republican’s divisive comment, Ireland Baldwin fought back by calling Owens a “disgusting” and “cancerous” human being.
“You are the most disgusting, hateful, cancerous human being I’ve ever come across,” the actor’s daughter wrote in her Instagram post.
“Regardless of your foul opinions most of the time, the fact that you would disrespect the life of a woman who was accidentally and tragically killed… Shame on you.”
The young model later doubled down on her attack on Owens as she added:
“Be a republican. Be unvaccinated. I don’t give a f***. There are plenty of liberal ones that I support as well… But one f***ing thing I find myself doing is being RESPECTFUL.
“But we aren’t debating masks and vaccines and abortion and trans rights here… a woman’s life was lost. Your tweets, lack of information, and ignorance are hurting people.”
Baldwin’s comments come shortly after Owens appeared to mock the grieving actor following the tragedy on set for the movie Rust.
“Alec Baldwin spent 4 years dedicated to painting Donald Trump and his supporters as evil murderers. What has happened to Alec would be an example of poetic justice if it weren’t for the actual innocent people that were murdered by him. Pray for their families. So sad,” Owens wrote in the now-deleted tweet.
Following the heated exchange of words, Ireland Baldwin came up with an update in which she explained that she and Owens had a fruitful conversation later on.
“Sometimes having an actual conversation can go a long way,” the model captioned the screenshot showing the exchange between her and Owens.
