Alec Baldwin was seen snapping at Hilaria during an impromptu interview after his wife kept interrupting him.
After the tragic shooting on the ‘Rust’ movie set, photographers and reporters have been diligently following the 63-year-old actor in an attempt to get his comments and statements on the accident that cost photography director Halyna Hutchkin her life.
Though Alec and Hilaria successfully evaded the paparazzi for more than a week, they appeared to take a stand on Saturday after stopping at the side of a road in Vermont to talk to DailyMail.com.
During an interview with the reporters, Alec insisted he has been ordered by the sheriff’s department not to answer any questions related to the ongoing investigation.
“It’s an active investigation in terms of a woman died. She was my friend. She was my friend,” the actor said.
“The day I arrived in Santa Fe to start shooting, I took her to dinner with Joel, the director. We were a very, very –,” he added before telling his wife ‘excuse me’ when she approached him with her phone while he was still talking.
After Hilaria took a few steps back, Alec added: “We were a very, very well oiled crew shooting a film together and then this horrible event happened.”
Later on, the reporters further infuriated the couple after appearing to forget Halyna Hutchins’ name.
“Her name is Halyna. If you’re spending this much time waiting for us, you should know her name,” Hilaria shouted after the interviewer admitted he had forgotten the cinematographer’s name while asking Baldwin about his meeting with the woman’s husband.
After explaining to the reporters that the cinematographer’s name was Halyna Hutchins, Alec went on to recall the time he met with her family following the tragic shooting.
“I met with her husband, Matthew, and her son. Yeah, that’s right… I wouldn’t know how to characterize it,” he added before he was abruptly interrupted by his wife while still talking to the reporters.
“You guys, you guys, you know what? No details,” Hilaria ordered before being stopped by her visibly annoyed husband who responded by telling her: “Do me a favor, I’m going to answer the questions.”
During the heated exchange with the reporters, Alec went on to confirm that “an ongoing effort to limit the use of firearms on film sets is something I’m extremely interested in.”
He added: “I’m not an expert in this field. So whatever other people decide is the best way to go in terms of protecting people’s safety on film sets – I’m all in favor of and I will cooperate with that in any way that I can.”
After answering all of their questions, Baldwin kindly asked the reporters to stop following him and his family and give them some privacy.
“My kids are in the car crying. As a courtesy to you, I came out [to talk to you]. I’m not allowed to comment on the investigation. I talk to the cops every day,” he said.
“My point is that – I’m just asking you… we sat down as a courtesy to talk to you, now, please, would you stop following us and leave us alone?”
