Distraught Alec Baldwin was pictured dining outdoors in New York for the first time since his family’s retreat in Vermont.
Weeks after the deadly shooting on the Rust movie set, the veteran 63-year-old actor, who accidentally shot and killed photography director Halyna Hutchins, was spotted enjoying dinner at his favorite restaurant together with his wife.
The couple was seen eating outdoors at Il Cantinori Restaurant in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, where onlookers quickly took notice of “sullen” Baldwin.
“We were very surprised to see him out because we knew he hasn’t been seen in public [in New York] since the accident,” one diner who spotted Alec and Hilaria told DailyMail.com.
“He looked very rough and not very polished. He seemed very sullen.”
For the occasion, Hilaria donned a patterned sweater while her husband maintained a lowkey appearance thanks to his black jacket and unkempt grey hair.
The photos of the couple come shortly after the Baldwins returned to New York following their trip to Vermont where the family retreated shortly after the Santa Fe shooting.
Following the on-set tragedy, Baldwin has remained in touch with Hutchins’ family and insisted he is fully cooperating with the authorities.
“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family,” the actor previously said.
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
Since the tragic incident, the actor also went on to suggest that police officers should be hired to oversee gun safety on movie sets.
