Max Wright, the star of the American sitcom Alien Life Form, has tragically passed away at the age of 75 after his two-decade-long battle with cancer.
Mr. Wright, who rose to fame for playing the father in the 80s/90s TV show, had been fighting his disease for 24 long years.
As his family reported according to TMZ, however, the beloved actor and family member has passed away at his home in Hermosa Beach, California.
The sitcom actor, who was married to Linda Wright for 52 years before she passed away from breast cancer back in 2017, is survived by his children Ben and Daisy.
Mr. Wright was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in 1995. According to WebMD, this type of cancer “begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes.” From there, cancer may grow and spread uncontrollably.
While the sources claimed the actor was in remission for several years after the 1990 diagnosis, cancer allegedly kept on striking back until it proved to be fatal.
Despite being most well-known for his role as the TV father in ALF, the actor scored over 60 credits to his name with the latest one dating back to 2005 when he appeared in the movie Back to Norm.
The deceased movie star also starred in other popular films such as The Sting II, The Shadow, Soul Man, Reds, All That Jazz, and Grumpier Old Men.
In addition, he also played a role in Cheers, Buffalo Bill, Dudley, Norm, and Misfits of Science. Much to the amazement of Friends’ fans, the actor also appeared as the manager of Central Perk in a two-episode gig.
