Here is a piece of good news for those who love to shop from Amazon! The company announced that it would offer Amazon fresh free grocery deliveries to all Prime members.
The new program also offers delivery in two-hour to its Prime members.
The delivery option is in addition to the free delivery Amazon offers to Prime members who shop at most Whole Foods Market stores.
To have no delivery fees, you need a minimum purchase for $35 or $50, that is, if you live in New York City. Prime memberships typically cost $119 a year.
”We made Fresh both available to more customers, and much faster, over the past year,” Stephenie Landry, Amazon’s vice president of grocery delivery. Ms. Landry told New York Times ”We have opened more of those over the past year, and that’s what enables us to offer free two-hour delivery,” she said.
In a statement to TODAY Food, Landry said, ”We have a long history of investing in services we think customers will love, and we think unlimited free grocery delivery will be one of the most loved Prime benefits.”
”Grocery delivery is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon, which is why we continue investing in adding more selection, expanding ultra-fast delivery and now we’re making it free.”
The details on Amazon website reads, ”FREE Grocery delivery is available to Prime members in select regions on Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods Market orders that meet the local free delivery threshold. To check region eligibility, sign into your Amazon account or enter your zip code on the page.”
”Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market delivery are available exclusively for Prime members by invitation only. You can sign up for an invitation without a Prime membership. Once you are able to shop we will notify you and remind you to sign up for a Prime membership in order to shop.”
