We don’t know how scary or spooky it is to discover that the employees of Amazon do listen to all the recorded stuff through all the Alexa devices.
However, it has also turned out to be of some help.
The full-time workers or contractors of Amazon are given at least a thousand recordings to go through for each of their shift. Some of the records really amuse them, and they share it with their colleagues to share all the fun.
According to a very credible source, seven of the former employees who used to work at Amazon’s voice review program have made some groundbreaking revelations. They disclosed that all the recordings are linked to the name of the customer, serial number of the device, and also with the personal account numbers.
The seven of them recalled various recording they had supervised during their shifts. One of them said that a sexual assault was once recorded and the other said that once it was the voice of a woman who was singing in her shower.
The former employees stated that some of the recordings that the employees found funny or couldn’t understand used to put them in the company’s chat rooms for having fun or for discussion.
The e-commerce giant, Amazon has now admitted that, yes, Alexa recordings are real and they are used for analysis and training purposes. However, the spokesperson of Amazon defended the company by saying that the company uses only a few of the recordings from the perspective of analysis.
Amazon’s spokesperson further added that all these recordings are necessary for making Alexa’s voice reading pattern better. It is all done in favor of enhancing the customer experience by learning all the mistakes that the technology that has been put in place makes while it is in use.
