Actor Matthew McConaughey issued a uniquely bizarre statement on Twitter as he celebrated the 4th of July recently.
This is certainly not the first time that the famous movie actor has gone about teasing his fellow political aspirations in what is being called a unique choice of words. This year, the star chose to celebrate the 4th of July by giving his fellow American citizens a good reminder about how the nation that they live in is still in its growing stage.
Hence, that’s probably why he opted to liken it to a young child that experienced puberty.
On Sunday, the ‘Dazed and Confused’ celebrity took to his Twitter account where he went about sharing a video clip that featured himself sitting right next to the American flag. And that is when he offered a great message to all of his followers regarding what Independence Day meant to him this year, keeping in mind how difficult the year 2020 was for the nation.
“Today, as we celebrate our country’s independence, the birth of our nation, a day that began with a revolution that allowed us to gain all of our sovereignty, let us all admit that in the past year, this particular trip around the sun, it was definitely another head-scratcher,” he added.
And that’s when McConaughey followed up the statement with a wish to the country. “Happy 245th birthday to America. But we must also never forget how we are all babies as a country too!”
It was very clear how the actor wanted his fans and followers to realize that the USA was currently passing through puberty when compared to other nations around the globe who are, truly much older than 245 years.
For this reason, the 51-year-old celeb felt the need to make the country’s citizens realize that it is still alright if they continue to pass through ‘growing pains.
