An angry disabled elderly man was caught on camera violently shaking the ladder of a painter who blocked his path until the worker fell off.
The incident occurred in Lima, Peru, where Fernández Sanchez was working on the renovation of a house with the help of a tall ladder that helped him reach the third story of the building.
Suddenly, as seen in the CCTV footage, a man in a wheelchair approached Sanchez’s ladder and started shaking it angrily until the worker fell off and land on his back.
According to the reports, the man was upset because the painter had blocked his path and he couldn’t pass with his wheelchair.
“The man becomes upset when there is something on the sidewalk. He always speaks rudeness,” a local said in an interview.
Fortunately, the painter was able to get back on his feet following the attack of the sinister pensioner. After he was taken to the hospital, the doctors thoroughly checked him and concluded he didn’t suffer any severe injuries.
While the police have been investigating the case and the attacker, Adam Carranza, the owner of the home Sanchez was working on, slammed the pensioner and claimed he or his daughter could also get hurt if the ladder fell in a different direction.
After the incident went viral, people were quick to condemn the wheelchaired man for putting other lives in danger.
“Being in a wheelchair is no excuse for that. There was plenty of room to be able to get through. I’m a wheelchair user and regularly experience problems,” someone wrote.
“He could simply ask the painter to MOVE rather than go on attacking him and putting his life at risk,” another one said.
Someone suggested: “What a nasty man – he could have killed that guy and no doubt has caused him serious injuries (even if he did get up and walk away) – the man should face criminal charges.”
