An angry wife punched her husband’s mistress in front of shocked parents outside the school gates after she found out the two’s affair.
38-year-old mom Lauren Gray attacked fellow mother Amanda Boylan after telling her “I want a word with you.” She punched her in the face and grabbed her by her hair.
She also kneed her in the head, leaving Boylan with a bloody nose outside a school in Paisley.
Paisley Sheriff Court was told “tempers and emotions were high” because it was the first time these two women had come face to face after Lauren discovered the affair.
Gray pleaded guilty to the attack and is now said to be “working through” the problems with her husband Steven Gray, who she married in 2005.
According to prosecutors, the incident occurred around 3 pm on January 30 while both Miss Boylan and Gray were at the school.
“Miss Boylan heart the accused behind her shouting, ‘I want a word with you’, said procurator Fiscal Depute Saud Ul-Hassan.
“Miss Boylan ignored the accused and walked in to the gates of the school.
She started walking back to her car.
The accused and Miss Boylan then exchanged words about an allegation involving the witness and the accused’s husband.
The accused punched her in the face and seized her by the hair then made off in her motor vehicle.”
The brawl was also caught on CCTV but the footage wasn’t shown in court. According to Daily Records, Gray was charged with assault.
“There is a background to this in so far as there was an infidelity between Mrs Gray’s husband and the complainer,” said Defense solicitor David Nicholson.
“This was the first coming together between her and the complainer and tempers and emotions were high.
There was an exchange and she reacted in this manner – it was spontaneous. Emotions were high and she felt significantly wronged. She apologises for her conduct.
She and her husband and now working through the issues that led to this particular incident.”
Gray was fined £400 and ordered to pay the fine at the rate of 40 pounds every four weeks.
