The annual JRR Tolkien seminar which has been a highlight for so many literary fans across the board is now going ‘woke’, with a great focus upon diversity.
Local media outlets confirmed how the seminar will now focus upon all sorts of issues relating to the topic of diversity in the star author’s famous works. And this includes the ever so popular, ‘Lord of the Rings.’
This year, the Tolkien society spoke about how it would pay more critical attention than ever to the problems of diversity, as confirmed by a recent announcement made by the literary charity.

The well-renowned organization which was originally founded in the year 1969 now exists at doing more important deeds and that is promoting the life as well as the work of Tolkien. For those who may not be aware, he is a famous English Catholic author of epics that are set in the dimensions of Middle-earth.
The organizers of the event mentioned how due efforts were in place to represent or even ignore all characteristics that require a further examination. This year, the popular conference is going to be held virtually via Zoom, with dates being announced as the 3rd and the 4th of July.
The organizers feel that the ‘Woke’ theme was a long time coming, something that had been spurred by a number of the writer’s recent interpretations of famous creations, not to mention the entire cast list for the upcoming show on Amazon- The Lord of the Rings.
Meanwhile, a casting agency based in New Zealand spoke about how it was in dire search of those actors who appeared different or funky looking when compared to the rest so they could cast them in the new series.
