Anthony Mackie has confirmed that he will be playing Captain America in the upcoming Disney series as he says he is sure the role is going to be daunting.
This is not the first time the 41 years old actor is going to be a Marvel created superhero as he had performed as Sam Wilson, the Falcon in several Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies like Avengers, Ant-Man, and Captain America Movies.
The new series which is ready to come out, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, picks up the story right from where they had left it the last time.
Remember how Captain America had handed over his shield to Falcon at the end of the Avengers Endgame? Yes, the series is going to start right from there. *Spoiler Alert.*
And what happened to Steve Rodgers? Well, he has gone back to live the normal life he had left it over a century ago.
Yes, his wife is long gone but he plans the rest of his life remembering his love for his wife Peggy Carter.
Mackie, who is right now working in a Netflix series Altered Carbon says that the role is going to daunting for him to perform.
He says “For people to accept a black Captain America is going to be tough. They have always seen Captain America as a disciplined, handsome hunk who is white, not black and so it is going to be a challenge.”
He says “My race represents I am an American and that is what Captain America is all about. He is the man for his nation and any American can be Captain America, even if he is black or white.”
Well, the official release date of the series is not out yet but we believe it is going to take about a year to release.
