Two security guard members were caught on camera as they confiscated rainbow flags from cheerful Denmark fans during a quarter-final match for the Euro 2020 Cup.
According to local media outlets, the incident went viral as it drew plenty of unwanted attention from supporters that sat near those same fans.
The move appeared to be in line with authorities’ orders of banning the display of LGBT rights at the stadium. But this was definitely not the first time that such an incident of this nature took place.
Moreover, just last week, several fans who hailed from the Netherlands had their flags confiscated while seated in their fan zone.
Now, one of the Euro 2020 Cup’s leading sponsors, Volkswagon, is also raising its concerns over the matter, while explaining how it was not allowed to use any form of a banner that contained the colors of the rainbow.
This particular incident reportedly took place during Denmark’s win against the Czech Republic, which was a thrilling quarter-final match, explained many.point 252 |

The flat confiscated comprised of rainbow hues which are renowned to be a symbolic representation of the lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, and bisexual community.
UEFA has also banned the display of any colorful boards that many felt would be a good representation of diversity as well as respect. However, to justify their claims, UEFA released a statement that clearly mentioned how it fully supports the message of both diversity and tolerance, which it claimed were already being promoted around the stadiums.
UEFA also shocked many football bans when it refused to allow the display of rainbow lights at its Allianz Arena in Germany too.
