If you’ve always felt a bit meh about the color scheme of iPhones, there may be hope yet. A report claims that when the rumored iPhone XR2 comes out later this year, it will also be available in two new colors: Lavender and Green.

This certainly adds more color to the iPhone line which has generally stuck with generic and boring ones like white, silver, and black.

The only exceptions to the drab color schemes were the iPhone XR and the “fun” iPhone 5C lines that got more vibrant hues.

With the iPhone XR2 expected to come out in September 2019, at least iPhone fans will now have two additional choices when it comes to color.

The report comes from specialist tech site MacOtakara. If true, it would be an exciting departure from the norm as Apple had never released a Lavender iPhone before.

Although the iPhone 5C was offered in green, only a very pastel version of the color was available.

Since the iPhone XR range has been marketed as quite vibrant, its version of green should be much more cheery and brighter. The current iPhone XR lineup offers its phones in White, Blue, Black, Coral, Yellow, and Red.

However, the MacOtakara report also mentions that the Coral and Blue colors will be discontinued. It’s entirely possible that iPhone fans haven’t shown much interest in those colors, hence the shelving. It does make sense to focus production on colors that are more popular.

Since the MacOtakara report can’t be verified, take the news about the new colors with a grain of salt. And even if those colors are really planned, Apple could just as easily change its mind by the time the September rollout arrives.
