Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former president, Donald Trump, has told Americans that are living close to the southern border to “better arm up and get guns and be ready, and maybe they will have to take matters into their own hands”.
The political icon has spoken to Fox News about the migrant influx, commenting her own solution for people to arm up in order to protect themselves if the situation becomes worse than it already is. Her conservative views are publicly announced, and she discusses border security during interviews.
Trump also chimes into the predicament with Vice President Kamala Harris, blasting her efforts in order to try to address the root causes as she goes on her diplomatic tour around Central America.
She talks about Harris, saying “she thinks she can just laugh off the crisis at the border and it’s embarrassing”.
This is why Trump has decided to step up, also suggesting that it is “insulting” for Border Patrol and ICE to hear about migrants crossing the border in such a fast and uncontrollable manner. It is like “they are being made a mockery of. It’s disgusting and disgraceful to see.”
She continues to comment about the situation at the border, not knowing what to say but guesses that they “better arm up and get guns and get ready, and maybe they will have to take matters into their own hands.
People should never make this dangerous journey here.
It’s bad for Americans. It’s bad for the migrants. It’s bad all around. ”She had been criticized heavily for her comments. Users on social media have their own take on her comment, such as photojournalist Zach Roberts who tweeted, “Just casually saying on a national broadcast that people should take up arms and start shooting immigrants. This is where we’re at.”
Russell Foster, Texas Democratic Congressional candidate also writes, “This is dangerous.
The former president’s daughter-in-law is calling for people to shoot immigrants. It’s worse after multiple mass shootings over the last few days in Texas and elsewhere.
This could lead to an uptick in hate crimes across the country. ”
