Armie Hammer is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department after a 24-year-old woman claimed that she was violently raped by the Hollywood actor.
The woman, identified only as Effie, claimed that Hammer raped her during a four-hour ordeal in 2017.
During a press conference with her attorney, Effie alleged that Hammer “repeatedly slammed her head against a wall.”
Effie continued: “During those four hours, I tried to get away but he wouldn’t let me. I thought that he was going to kill me.”
She also claimed that the actor, who was married at the time, whipped her with a crop, leaving her in pain for many days.
“He left with no concern for my well-being. During and since this attack, I have lived in fear of him,” she expressed.
The LAPD told Daily Mail in a statement on Thursday afternoon: “We can confirm that Armie Hammer is the main suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation that was initiated on February 3.”
Hammer has firmly denied Effie’s allegations and described the claims as ‘outrageous.’
He was married to TV personality Elizabeth Chambers at the time of the alleged sexual abuse. She filed for divorce in July last year.
The Hollywood star made headlines earlier this year after social media page HouseOfEffie started posting screenshots of messages he had allegedly sent to different women.
Effie said she was only 20 years old when she first came into contact with Hammer on social media in 2016. They allegedly started a romantic relationship even though the actor was married to Chambers.
Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, tried to discredit Effie’s allegations by sharing screenshots of disturbing messages the accuser sent to him last year.
One of the messages read: “Helplessly horny and I just need to tell you cuz it’s been sooo long since last time.”
The actor replied: “I am not going to be able to engage in you in that specific way right now. It never ends well. We can talk and be friends but I can’t do that.”
