What better way to make money in the name of art than this!
An artist from Denmark made headlines recently when he delivered a museum her masterpiece artwork which was worth a grand $84,000. Titled as ‘Take the Money and Run,’ the so-called creation had literally nothing on it. Yes, it was absolutely blank.
The news was confirmed by Denmark’s Kunsten Museum which is renowned for its modern art creations. But this was certainly an original piece of its kind as no one had ever thought of such a concept in the past.
Critics from around the globe raised eyebrows regarding the decision that had so many people in absolute awe when the Museum chose to award the artist for her efforts.
The artist was revealed as Jens Haaning who received the massive paycheque for his ‘hard work’ which came with the rather cheeky title. But why would anyone do something like that is a thought on so many people’s minds.
Well, that’s because recent investigations into the case revealed a whole new story. The Museum in Denmark did in fact pay the artist the huge check-in advance but they never commissioned him to turn in two giant white canvasses that were literally empty to the core.
Officials are now calling it a blank robbery because the spokesperson for the Museum says that the artist did them wrong. He was originally hired to recreate two of their famous masterpieces but he thought he’d soon get away with it by sending in a blank canvas.
The actual pieces were the artists’ own creations which come with the title, ‘an average Danish Annual Income’ and ‘an average Austrian annual income.’ Both of these paintings reportedly feature real banknotes that display the average income of a citizen from Denmark.
