Walt Disney Studios has a big part in most people’s childhoods.
Their creations made many memorable characters that have kept us company to times even till today. Disney’s style is heartwarming stories and heroic characters.
However, Japanese graphic designer Shusaku Takaoka decided to tinker the way we see these favorite cartoon characters. He digitally incorporated them into places and scenarios they don’t fit into. The artist combined pop-culture references and classic cartoons, creating interesting stories and images, that show our favorite Princesses and Princes in a different light.
He makes witty and humorous digital art pieces that make you reevaluate everything you know. He isn’t afraid to use dark humor, show society’s issues, and display our favorite characters in a gruesome and shocking way.
He satirizes and re-invents things we all know and love for shock value. He wants the reader to stop and reevaluate their meanings. See them in a completely new perspective and learn something new, connect certain social issues to the images.
Below are some of his works and always remember it’s dark humor so have a good laugh at them!
