An extremely talented artist has to create a sand picture of a koala in order to honor animals who died in the Australian bushfire.
In this picture, the little koala is clinging to a tree that is burning. The art was created on the beach located in Geelong, Victoria.
Breathe a Blue is the official Instagram page of the artist where he shared the picture of his work and prompted people to raise awareness of the crisis that has been happening in Australia and the animal lives that have been lost.
The caption of the post read that people actually smell the smoke of the fire today and it has been days since they saw the sun. Presently, the Geelong Beaches and Surf coast have been closed.
According to the reports over one billion animals have lost their lives in this bushfire. The condition is so grave that some of these species may have turned endangered.
The artist has not used any anchored rakes and ropes to make this work and he is known for his intricate sand work. Over thousands of koalas die in the fire especially those who reside in Kangaroo island.
The number of koalas has reduced by a third in the last 20 years (1990 and 2010- because of habitat destruction, fragmentation, deforestation, etc.
Koalas are one of the favorite things that represent Australia but unfortunately, this species is speculated to become extinct by the year 2050.
Experts in Australia are saying that the habitat of koalas is completely destroyed, so it is not a good place for them.
It has become crucial for the world to take a necessary step against fragmentation, deforestation and other issues that are impacting the wildlife and forcing them to become extinct.
