He is only depending on chicken nuggets of Asda which made it difficult for his mom to find the chunks in the supermarket due to the restrictions put on shoppers amid coronavirus outbreak.

His mom Sharon, from Ely, said: “That’s all he can eat. He has Ensure [a replacement meal drink] to keep him going but he will lose weight when he’s not able to eat.

“He loves food – he loves burgers, sausages, McDonald’s – but he can’t eat them as he chokes. We had the paramedic here about six months ago to help us as he choked on his food, he had it stuck in his throat. He has a bag of them a day, nine in the morning and nine in the evening.”

She said that her son will face starvation unless he can eat chicken nuggets. Sharon faced trouble in finding the only food her son could eat.

She added: “I don’t know what it is, all the other products have the same chicken, there’s chicken strips and chunks but the ones in batter seem to be bought the most because they’re so popular.

“We have to go get them when we can find them and when they deliver them to the supermarket because they are scarce anyway. Everyone has bought them up recently, everyone is stockpiling.”

She decided to ask for help and made an appeal on John’s Facebook page writing, “If anyone can help me please John has an eating problem and can only eat these from Asda, it’s all he can tolerate. I can’t get any and John is going to starve otherwise.”
