A French Hunter ended up with 50 stitches on his face after a deer that he was stalking charged at him in an attempt to escape.
Vincent Saubion (36) had to be airlifted to the hospital for his surgery when he faced a dangerous encounter with a deer during his hunting expedition in France.
The frightened 330 lbs deer ripped off a long flap of skin from Saubion’s cheek just below his eye and across the nose.
The hunter is originally from Basque, and he told local media that he felt intoxicated after the deer took half of his face. Even with a gigantic wound on the face and a lot of blood loss, the hunter continued to hunt with his friends.
However, his friends told him to stop. Fortunately, there was a fire fighter in the group who was able to give Saubion first aid.
However, the injury was quite serious that he later had to be airlifted to the Pellegrin Hospital located in Bordeaux and undergo emergency surgery. According to local reports, the 36-years old hunter had around 50 stitches.
Saubion told the local reports that he was glad that the injury was not that worse, but he did feel frightened. There were no broken bones in Saubion’s face, and he assured reports that he felt quite well.
And even after such a close encounter, the man said it is a plan to return to the forest soon after his recovery. He revealed he has always been crazy about hunting and will continue to do the same.
This incident actually occurred in January, but it only came it public attention now. And it is also unknown whether or not the deer that attacked Saubion has made it alive.
