Disgusting to most people, cockroaches are disreputably hardy creatures.
Capable of holding their breath for 5-7 minutes, living headless for weeks, and even surviving nuclear radiation, cockroaches can spread diseases and infest your house without you even knowing.
Cockroaches are one of the most common pests that people across the globe have to face. Flick on the lights and the scuttling legs and antennae on the tables, countertops, sinks, etc. can live up to your worst nightmares.
Similar was the case when Bhargav Chavda spotted a cockroach in his kitchen. While he panicked, interestingly he made an online plea to help kill the roach in his kitchen, which is ‘abnormally large.’
Bhargav, who is a business student living in Brisbane, Australia, made a desperate request for help in killing the huge cockroach that popped up in his kitchen when he was looking for food.
He arrived home at 10 pm after his usual busy day. When he went to the kitchen for some, he could not believe his eyes, as there was an insanely giant cockroach scuttling around.
Like most of the people, he panicked but instead of doing something about it, he took to Gumtree and placed an advertisement asking for immediate help.
The advert read – need cockroach dead now, as soon as possible, and gave his address. It also said bring spray, etc. as he only has a broom, cloth, and thongs.
He offered $20 to kill the cockroach and informed that the roach is living somewhere in the kitchen or living room. His advertisement was desperate as it also said that he is hungry and cannot go to the kitchen, so please respond ASAP.
Although he did get people responding to his advert, not in the manner he anticipated. People were not offering their help to kill the cockroach. Instead, they were laughing at his advert.
When asked, Bhargav said that he doesn’t know what is wrong with people. He said that people are responding ‘you just made my day’ or ‘this is funny.’
He said that the cockroach is still roaming freely in his house. Well, we hope that he catches the insect and sleep peacefully once again.
