Australia has now decided to bar and kick out the visitors who have been convicted of violence against children and women.
The immigration minister David Coleman said that it is essential to prohibit foreign criminals. Australia will not allow people to enter the country too with a history of doing violence.
It is essential to take such steps to stop the violence around us.
On Thursday when the new laws were made on the existing legislation which requires visitors, the visa will now be canceled if the person has ever done violence towards women or children and the visa will also be revoked if the holder has ever been sentenced to jail for 12 months or more.
The immigration minister said that Australia takes no stand for people who are domestic violence perpetrators and also the country doesn’t tolerate these things.
He further stated that it is simple, if you have ever been convicted of violence against women or children then you will not be allowed in the country.
The Canberra has rejected a lot of visa for some famous people like the American R&B singer Chris Brown and the boxing star Floyd Mayweather because of their conviction history of domestic violence against women or children.
Australia has taken this step to bring the change in between the people and make them realize that you will be restricted from a lot of things if you are even convicted once against any domestic violence case in your life.
Some people have even lived their life in Australia, but New Zealand stood up against Canberra’s law by saying that it deported the convicts and sent them home after they served their jail terms.
We hope that such laws bring the change that is needed in between the people so that the rate of domestic violence decreases. It is essential to take small steps to bring the, and Australia is playing its part well.
