An autistic man has stopped going outside after a gang of bullies beat him for feeding pigeons.
Daniel Warren, from Derby, was attacked by a group of bullies when he was feeding pigeons.
They punched him in the face and arms before Daniel hid in a nearby cafe and broke down in tears.
The 31-year-old is now too scared to go outside and is traumatized after the incident.
Talking about the incident, Daniel said he was going towards Derby Bus Station when he decided to feed the pigeons as he loves feeding them.
That’s when the group of the bullies approached him and started beating him.
He said: “That’s when they started swooping in on me, they punched me on my arms and smacked me in the head, you can still feel the lump.”
He managed to escape and found a friend of him at Derby Bus Station. His friend took him to the Eagle Centre so he could wash himself and then they went to Boots and told them what had happened.
He said: “She took me to the Eagle Centre to wash myself. We then went to Boots and told them what happened.”
“They could see I was upset, then I went to Grand Café Caruso and I broke down in tears, I was trying not to.”
To cheer him up, the staff at the Grand Café Caruso gave him a “massive chocolate muffin”.
Daniel’s mother informed the police when she got to know about the attack on her son.
Daniel said when he went to bed that night, he closed his eyes and saw his attacker’s faces.
He said they were haunting him and he was too scared to leave the house.
He said: “Some people are not very nice, I woke up the next day and I was shaking to get out the door. I was nervous.”
However, Daniel has now decided to share his story to help others who experience the same things in their lives.
Daniel made a YouTube video and talked about the attack on him by a group of bullies.
He said he was attacked just because he is different because he is autistic. He said he wanted to raise awareness of autism and bullying by sharing his story.
He said: “Some people hide and bottle it up but I want to get a platform going. I want to stand up for myself, I won’t put up with it anymore.”
The video instantly went viral and he got massive support online.
