Taking care of your baby when you have a job can be difficult.
That is why many parents leave their little ones in daycare centers so they could continue working to provide for their children.
Believing that her child will be safe, Tracy Blinov left her 7-month-old daughter at the Busy Hands daycare center in Montana, USA, before going to work.
However, Tracy soon received a call from a staff that made her rush to the daycare center. She was told that Eliana, her daughter, had been bitten multiple times.
When she reached the place, she found Eliana’s face covered in red marks and they’ve learned that another child caused the bites.
Although it is not new to hear or see a child biting another, what concerned Tracy the most is the fact that Eliana had been bitten multiple times before staff came to intervene.
According to the surveillance footage from Busy Hands daycare, it was found that Eliana had been attacked for about a minute and a half before someone tried to stop the other toddler. She had over ten bite marks on her body and face.
“I don’t get it. I never will. Who let’s this kind of thing happen? I Let Eliana go to Busy Hands, and in less than 2 hours both sides of her face have been severely bitten and scratched by another child. I’m utterly perplexed. Not sure I can ever let her out of my sight again. Sweet baby sleep in my arms forever, I’m never legging you go,” Tracy wrote on Facebook.
The bites were so severe that the 7-month-old baby had to take antibiotics. A few days after, she was already in a good mood.
“She’s in much better spirits today. I’m happy to say the bruising and swelling is coming down a little, it’s amazing how resilient babies are. So blown away by the support from everybody. ABC Fox Montana and KPAX will both be featuring stories on our sweet girl,” Tracy shared on Facebook.
Previous Biting Incident
The 2-year-old child who attacked Eliana had only started at the Busy Hands Daycare. It was discovered that one week before that, the toddler had been transferred from another center for biting a child.
The child’s mother had failed to inform Busy Hands about the biting incident, so the daycare didn’t expect such behavior.
“This toddler that came in was a new customer and she neglected to tell us that the child was a biter and neglected to tell us that the week before she had been kicked out of Little Griz for biting a child,” the owner of Busy Hands said. “If that would have been told to us, we could have said ‘No, we can’t take her.”
Even though Montana law says that one adult at daycare can have a maximum of four toddlers, Busy Hands announced that they would reduce that to two children per staff.
