Young Ainsley Gray is just like any other kid when it comes to attitude.
Cheerful, funny, and hopeful, she never fails to bring a smile to anyone who interacts with her. Yes, Ainsley is just like any other baby except for one critical difference: the 2-year-old suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta type 3.

This condition means that she lacks collagen in her body so that her bones can break or fracture easily. And this is what makes her attitude all the more remarkable.
We can see just how infectious Ainsley’s laugh is in the video showing her in a tender moment with her dad Brady. In fact, it’s not so much Brady who was making Ainsley laugh than the other way around and that can’t fail to touch a chord in one’s heart.
To understand just how severe Ainsley’s condition is, she hasn’t known a life without fractures. Touch her in the wrong way and her bones will break. This is why most of the time, she’s just lying on her side or back.
And yet she is the light that shines through during the darkest moments for parents Ashley and Brady.
Ashley’s and Brady’s journey was certainly filled with many challenges. They got married in 2011 and decided to start a family three years later.
“But nothing was happening,” Ashley explained. “We talked to doctors, we kept praying, and God gave me peace. The day before our five-year anniversary, I found out I was pregnant.”
But the joy at finding out that Ashley was expecting was short-lived. At 18 weeks, Ashey had an appointment for an ultrasound.
“We didn’t know it was going to be more than that,” she recalls.
“But then they started talking about anatomy, and the whole room got very quiet. They said that our daughter had club feet, small arms and legs, and a spot on her heart. But they weren’t overly alarmed.Separately, those conditions were no big deal, but since they were all together, they referred us to a specialist.
The next day – on Brady’s birthday – we had another ultrasound. That’s when it was confirmed that something was definitely wrong.”
Given the option to terminate the pregnancy, both parents decided to keep the baby.
On Jan. 24, 2017, Ainsley Grace was born and they have never regretted any moment and are thankful every day that God has given them such a beautiful daughter.
And that’s why Ashley wants to inspire other people through the example of her daughter.
“I want to show people that kids who are different can bring more joy … Ainsley doesn’t know she is different and if she does, she embraces every second … I know God will use her to touch people’s lives. That’s just who he made her to be.”
