Baby Arthur Patel was born with a full head of hair that he had to visit the barber at only 12 weeks old.
And because his hair is growing fast, he needs a haircut every six weeks.
His mother, 33-year-old Anna Barbard, said: “When I was pushing for hours, all the midwives and doctors just kept telling me: ‘We can see his hair!’”
“Newborns normally need a hat but they told me Arthur already had quite a lot of insulation,” she added.
“I was more surprised on how other people reacted, like “oh my God, look at his hair”- everyone at the hospital, the midwives, anyone I came across was like “wow”.
“It was then when I thought it’s probably unusual. I took him to the hairdresser when he was only a few months old, maybe three or four.”
Anna and baby Arthur’s father, 34-year-old Richard Patel, tried to tame his hair with gel.
“It’s at that point where it goes in his eyes and really long at the back, like a mullet,” she said.
“The hairdressers were so surprised- now he goes to the barbers that my husband goes to because he needs a proper haircut.”
People also kept on asking her if she had heartburn during pregnancy. “When he was younger people thought he was a girl, purely because of the hair,” Anna expressed.
“I get stopped in the street all the time and people are always commenting on his hair.”
Little Arthur still doesn’t like visiting the barber. “He doesn’t really like going to the hairdresser- we’ve found that letting him watch Peppa Pig on my phone is the only thing that works, otherwise it’s quite traumatic for him.”
