A newborn baby boy has been hospitalized after contracting the novel coronavirus and experiencing high body temperature.
As a BBC report confirmed, 11-week-old Ares Banister has been admitted to England’s Leicester Royal Infirmary where he is currently battling the killer bug.
While the young boy’s situation “seems to have settled” according to his mum, 30-year-old Jodie Banister, she won’t forget the “fear and panic” she was faced with when her baby received a diagnosis.
“We just thought, no way on earth it would be Covid. [We experienced] fear and panic. I just sat there and cried. It was horrendous,” the mother-of-four told BBC.
“The first thing you automatically think it that he’s going to die. I was so scared.”
In an attempt to do something good out of her son’s case, the mother also came up with a touching Facebook post in which she urged people to stay at home.
“So while your all still going out and about without a care in the world, going to the supermarket every day for those absolute essentials you just had to have and going out for your three hour long walks that you’ve never done before in your lives our 11-week-old baby has just tested positive for COVID19,” Banister wrote.
“We haven’t been out for weeks but unfortunately Christian still has to go to work to make sure Tesco has food on the shelves ready for you all to ransack and hoard.”
As the upset mum went on to suggest, people should “start listening” because the pandemic has left the world in a fragile state.
“If you aren’t a key worker please stay at home!!!!! Please please start listening because our entire world has just been tipped upside down!!!” she concluded.
