The bond between Johannsen and Barnes is very strong because he is one of the orphaned kangaroos.

Either abandoned by their mothers or after their mothers’ death, these adorable little guys are taken care of by the sanctuary staff.

Explaining the bond between Johannsen and Barnes, a representative of the sanctuary told Inside Edition: “Brolga is his mom.”

The kangaroo sanctuary was founded by Barnes about a decade ago.

He made this place to give a home and mother’s care to orphaned or injured baby kangaroos while they are in a vulnerable phase of their life.

Johannsen, who is under Barnes’ care for the last seven months, has started treating him as his mother. In fact, the little kangaroo is addicted to the love and affection he gets from Barnes.

“Little Johannsen doesn’t want me to go,” Barnes captioned the video. “So I make sure he always gets lots of cuddles.”
